In September 2011, 24 members of Spalding Group spent a memorable 5 days at Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire. We stayed at Harefield Hall a beautiful 15th century building set in 28 acres of woodland and gardens. The staff could not have been more welcoming, were always cheerful and helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The food was excellent as was the accommodation. We all agreed that it was a most enjoyable holiday and would like to thank Diana and Lyn for all their hard work in organising the holiday and the many beautiful walks with such spectacular views. Below are some of the photos(with comments) taken by Ed Weller on the holiday.
1.These three are are taken at How Stean Valley showing beautiful views and some of us crossing the shallow flowing river. It was a truly enjoyable holiday.
2.These three were taken at the Scar House Reservoir. As you can see, it was a very rough, wet and windy day but even that did not spoil our enjoyment of a spectacular place. In fact, it made you remember it more as a topic of conversation.
3.Just a few more photos (nearly finished) from our holiday. These were taken at Studley Royal and Fountains Abbey. The Abbey was particularly fascinating – a lot of history behind it.
4. Attached last two photos of Spalding Group holiday in N. Yorkshire. They were taken at Brimham Rocks which is huge area of natural rock formations – very popular with tourist – and very spectacular.
